WELCOME

We’re well into Summer and thinking about Fall. This issue of TRAVELSAVVYNEWS concentrates primarily on the West. Great months to travel the open roads….or as Howard Hian suggests in the FEATURED DESTINATION, cruise---even touching on British Columbia. Canada. The San Juans are wide open and calling too. Autumn is spectacular in the Islands—pick your spot, you can be as remote or as accessible as you desire, all the while learning more of US history and culture. The eating is great too. The Big Sky Country of Montana stands out for a ‘City Slickers’ adventure at the Lazy E-L, and in Oregon, a visit to Tamastslikt Cultural Institute and the Wild Horse Resort and Casino on the Oregon Trail just east of Pendleton will blend history, cultures, entertainment, and for the golf enthusiast, a grade A course to try your skills.

Where ever you go, may your travels be rewarding and safe. Remember, you are the guest. Take care of your destination spots as if they were your own.

Happy Trails, Ann Terry Hill
