|Carlton & Lobenhaus B&B
Carlton would be a cute little agricultural town in Yamhill County, even if it hadn’t grown into a hub of the wine country. Right outside Carlton is Lobenhaus Bed & Breakfast & Vineyard.
Each of the six well appointed rooms in this tri-level, lodge-style B&B has a private bath, individual heating/cooling, a deck with territorial views of woods, Millican Creek, and vineyards. But this description doesn’t include mention of Joe & Shari Lobenstein, proud owners of the B&B who do everything possible to make your stay here memorable. The rooms are spacious, the beds designed to give you a great night’s sleep, and the bathrooms well outfitted for all your needs. The view from your room out to the woods makes you think you are miles away from any civilization. You want for nothing. And---the breakfast---ahhh, Shari whips up sumptuous selections that range from a banana/orange juice wake up drink, to eggs,to an apple pancake and sausage. In the world of B&Bs, it is 5 STAR! www.lobenhaus.com
Don’t leave town without visiting some of the wineries and the well established restaurants. The Anne Amie Winery, a short distance from Lobenhaus is a good place to start your tasting. On a hillside overlooking the countryside, the winery is an architectural delight. We suggest you pack a lunch and enjoy the view from their outside patio. Cuvée, a French restaurant in the Oregon wine country of Carlton is a must! Chef and proprietor Gilbert Henry prepares only the finest fare, mostly local. Waiter Felipe will guide you to the day’s specials and give you an honest appraisal of the best choices. Highly recommended.
