SIXTH ANNUAL MUSIC FESTIVAL BRINGS THE BEST IN BLUEGRASS TO THE BEACH
Long Beach Bluegrass Festival promises three days and 21 sets of knee-slapping performances from March 26 through 28, 2010
LONG BEACH PENINSULA, Wash. – March, 2010 – Seven of the top regional Blue Grass bands will warmly welcome the fresh, original and traditional sounds of Kentucky’s Junior Sisk Rambler’s Choice and the hard driving music and tight harmonies of Idaho’s Will Williams & Gravel Road to the sixth annual Long Beach Bluegrass Festival. The event will take place on Washington’s Long Beach Peninsula, March 26, 27 and 28.
Regional bands include Lee Highway, Misty Mamas, Grapevine, Small Towne Bluegrass Band, Northern Departure, The McMahons, and Deadwood Revival.
The festival begins with the ever-popular open microphone session (where amateurs are invited to join in on stage with professional bluegrass musicians) from 3PM to 5PM on Friday. Workshops, a slow jam and a band scramble kick off Saturday’s line up. A total of 21 performances will take place simultaneously at two venues in the Chautauqua Lodge (304 NW 14th St., Long Beach, WA 98631). Two free gospel services on Sunday starting at 10AM will round out the festival.
Tickets are $15 for Friday and $20 for Saturday. Admission to Sunday’s performances is free. For a schedule and full list of bands, please access www.funbeach.com/events/bluegrass/index.html.
