Travel Weekly honors Maui and the best of the travel industry
Travel Weekly honored the winners of its seventh annual Readers Choice Awards on December 17 inNew York. The award winners represented the “best of the best of the travel industry.” The nominees and award recipients were selected by Travel Weekly’s readers, a group comprised of expert travel professionals. This year’s Readers Choice named Hawai‘i as the winner in the Best U.S. State Destination and recognized the island of Maui within the Hawai‘i category as Best Destination. “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” Filming on Kaua‘i
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the newest sequel in Walt Disney Pictures’ hit series, is scheduled to begin filming on Kaua‘i this summer. The movie stars Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow and Geoffrey Rush as Captain Hector Barbossa, and is scheduled for release in 2011.
