ATLANTIS OFFERS NEW MAUI SUB TOUR, LANAI SNORKEL PACKAGE

LAHAINA, MAUI – Atlantis Submarines is offering a new undersea exploration package that combines the magic of Maui’s world at 150 feet below the surface, with the thrills of snorkeling among schools of fish off Lanai.

The package is offered in conjunction with Maui Adventure Cruises’ Lanai Dolphin Adventure and provides guests with the rare opportunity to see and experience up close the marine life around two islands.

“It’s a very exciting adventure because these two tour experiences immerse people in a marine life environment that lets them feel the vibrancy and see the beauty of Hawaii’s undersea world,” said Jim Walsh, general manager for Atlantis Submarines Maui.

Atlantis Submarines Maui offers six undersea tours daily off the Lahaina coastline that descend to 150 feet amid marine life of all sizes, shapes and colors. A highlight of the tour is seeing the sunken Carthaginian replica whaling ship, which Atlantis sunk in December 2005 to create an artificial reef and self-sustaining habitat for marine life in the area.

Atlantis uses the world’s most technologically advanced passenger submarine. Battery powered to protect the marine environment, the 65-foot, 48-passenger submarine features a spacious, air-conditioned cabin with lots of head and legroom, and large viewing ports to enjoy the action – without getting wet.

Maui Adventure Cruises’ Lanai Dolphin Adventure is available Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Departing Maui’s Lahaina Harbor at 7:30am, the 49-foot vessel crosses the Maui channel to Lanai where the captain chooses snorkel sites that provide the clearest and calmest ocean conditions. Snorkel gear, instructions and safety tips are provided. Dolphins, green sea turtles, and manta rays are often encountered. Lunch and other snacks are included, along with a souvenir photo. The vessel returns to Lahaina Harbor by 12:30pm.

Cost for the sub and snorkel package is $159 for adults and $80 for children ages 5-12.
