This is historical fiction at its best. Fort Smith was on the edge of the Frontier, abutting the Oklahoma Territory where so many of the desperados tried to hide. US Marshals brought them back to face Parker and meet their fate by either being hanged or housed in the jail known as Hell on the Border.
